UNATTENDED CHILDREN POLICY
Philosophy:(approved 4/13/98) The Monroe Free Library strives to provide and maintain a safe environment for all patrons. It is with this goal in mind that the following policy in regard to unattended children is instituted.
For reasons of safety and the well-being of young children, the following rules will be followed:
If it is determined that a parent is needed to remove a disruptive child or pick a child up for any reason, and the parent cannot be reached or located within 30 minutes, library staff may call the police or child protective services. A staff member should remain with the child until the authorities arrive. Under no circumstances may a staff member drive a child home. *includes parents, guardians, care-givers |
